Vipan Bajwa standing in front of a Union City fire engine

Experienced leadership.

Ready to serve.

A City Commissioner, non-profit leader, and lifelong Union City resident — running for City Council to strengthen our neighborhoods, boost our local economy, and protect taxpayer dollars.

Vipan Bajwa standing in front of a Union City fire engine

Vipan Bajwa is a lifelong Union City resident who turned a career in professional finance into a commitment to public service.

Vipan grew up in District 4 and was educated in New Haven Unified schools — Pioneer Elementary, Alvarado Middle School (now Itliong-Vera Cruz Middle School), and James Logan High School. He attended Chabot College, then earned his degree in accounting and finance from California State University, East Bay.

He began his career as an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), examining financial statements and internal controls for large organizations, and went on to consult at Ernst & Young (EY) on audit and financial oversight. He brings that Big Four background — audit, financial reporting, and oversight — directly to City Hall, with a focus on balanced budgets, transparency, and responsible use of taxpayer dollars.

For years, Vipan has worked alongside residents, small businesses, and local organizations to support and improve our city. Now he's stepping up to serve on City Council — because our community deserves a leader who is dedicated to residents and committed to building a stronger Union City.

Union City deserves real leadership that will stand up for residents and build a brighter future for our city. I'm running for City Council to strengthen our neighborhoods, boost our local economy, protect taxpayer dollars, and keep Union City thriving. — Vipan Bajwa

Our community trusts Vipan for City Council

Having supported Vipan Bajwa's appointments to the Union City Chamber of Commerce and the Human Relations Commission, I have seen his commitment to public service firsthand. He has helped strengthen the Chamber, advocated for small businesses, and worked effectively with city leaders to address community concerns. Vipan is already doing the work — now we need to elect him to the City Council.

Union City Mayor
I have had the privilege of serving alongside Vipan Bajwa on the board of Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center. His fellow board members trusted him to serve as Chair because he listens, leads with integrity, and genuinely cares about the people we serve. Union City would benefit from bringing that same thoughtful and trusted leadership to the City Council.
Jaime Patiño
Union City Vice Mayor
